On March 20, 2025, the School of International Education Exchange held a Sino-foreign cultural exchange activity themed "Cultural Integration, Hand in Hand for Progress" in Room 409 of Yuxiu Building. It attracted active participation from international students from different countries and students majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL).

At the beginning of the activity, everyone got to know each other through self-introductions, and the atmosphere quickly became lively. Peng You, an international student from Pakistan, said in Chinese: "My name is Peng You. I like China very much, and I also love the Chinese language. I hope to study, communicate and make progress together with everyone today." Later, everyone exchanged ideas around common hobbies, and the calligraphy experience session was particularly popular.

Under the guidance of Zhang Yanjie, a 2023-level TCSOL student, the international students learned to write with writing brushes, felt the charm of Chinese calligraphy, and deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture. Zakhar from Belarus said: "This is my first time writing with a brush. It feels very interesting and challenging. Through writing with a brush, I have a deeper feeling for the charm of Chinese calligraphy and love Chinese culture more and more."

The students also shared surrounding scenic spots and local customs of their hometowns with each other, enhancing their understanding and respect for different cultures. After the activity, everyone expressed their hope for more such exchange opportunities in the future.

This exchange activity was a complete success. Similar activities will be held in the future to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, cultivate talents with an international perspective and cross-cultural communication capabilities, and strive to build the "Study at Yantai University" brand.
