On the morning of March 28, 2025, the School of International Education Exchange organized international students to participate in the "Gen Z Adventure" series of activities — the International Students' Program to Explore New Perceptions of Yantai. They experienced the unique charm of Bohai Ferry up close and witnessed the remarkable achievements of China's maritime transportation.
The international students went deep into Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd. and boarded the "Zhonghua Fuxing" (China Rejuvenation) ship. The spacious and bright service hall and luxurious and comfortable first-class cabins amazed them. In the KTV room, the students expressed their love for Chinese culture by singing Teresa Teng's classic song "The Moon Represents My Heart".
Stepping onto the bridge, they looked into the distance at the sea horizon with binoculars to experience the charm of navigation. Going deep into the engine room, they touched the ship's power equipment and learned about the power principles. RIPLI ARTEM from Russia praised: "This is the first time I have boarded such a grand ship, and it feels really luxurious! I think of ancient China through the Maritime Silk Road, where ships played a huge role as key maritime transportation tools. Today, being able to visit this important transportation tool representing the modern Maritime Silk Road in person, I am amazed by its advanced nature!"
After leaving the ship, the international students came to the Bohai Ferry Dispatching and Command Center. They watched the real-time operation status of the ships on the huge screens. The high-tech modern command center made them deeply feel the vigorous development momentum of China's intelligent shipping.
This activity organized by the School of International Education Exchange of Yantai University not only enabled the international students to make academic progress, but also helped them deepen their understanding of China and gain precious friendships through rich cultural experiences. As Kim Se-heon, an international student from South Korea, said: "This cross-cultural exchange experience is really meaningful. It allows us to appreciate more diverse cultural styles and broaden our horizons."
